When Disability Outreach secures SSI eligibility for members with qualifying conditions, the managed care plan benefits from a significant increase in capitation which helps protect its fiscal health.

  More than two-thirds of initial SSI applications are denied and many of those eligible for SSI do not apply or do not know how to navigate the application process.   The most effective method of identifying members who are eligible for SSI is partnership with various departments within the health plan, including medical management and finance. In combination, we are also able to analyze claims data to identify members through various factors that are suggestive of disabling conditions. By providing a comprehensive strategy we are in a position to identify as many eligible members as possible.
